Parent, M. Suzanne "Suzy"
Suzanne was born April 28, 1944, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Gordon and Marian Vandeveld. Despite her mother's best efforts, she much preferred throwing a football and playing with her three older brothers, Ron, Jack, and David to wearing a dress. She graduated from Wauwatosa East High School and from there it was off to the races, literally as anyone could tell who saw her drive her T-Top Corvettes packed tightly with three kids. We won't mention the '80s gold Trans AM, with the "Treat" license plate. Her zest for life guided her throughout. She settled in Door County with husband, Joe Parent in 1986. Hanging out with family, friends and spending time with her grandchildren were her biggest joys. "Suzgrammy", "Gramma Suzy Magoozie," "Gramasita," were among her treasured nicknames along with "Momasita," "The Redheaded Nuthatch," or simply "Belgian!" Unconditional love was Mom's creed. Live Well. Laugh Often. Love Much. Those were not just statements for Suzanne, but the basis upon which she chose to lead her life. She is and will forever be loved and remembered. She enjoyed keeping fit and strong, was an avid biker, weightlifter and tennis player who loved to walk, read and tend to her two Yorkies whom she groomed, brushed, flossed vigorously, walked and hand-fed, slightly warmed kosher ham. She could pack an entire college dorm of clothes and supplies into a Lincoln Town Car, and proved it on lots (and lots) of occasions. The Packers, don't even mention "her" GB Packers. In addition to all that, she was the best mother and grandmother on the planet. Suzanne left a trail of sunshine and friends wherever she ventured. Beloved by all, Suzanne will be missed by her husband, Joe Parent; three children, Shelly (Gary) Reinhardt, Fish Creek, Wis.; Kristen (Peter) Lipsey, Wilmette, Ill.; Daniel (Erica) Galligan, Cedarburg, Wis.; grandchildren, David, Evan, Adam, Jacob and Brynn Reinhardt, Jimmy, Katie and Ellie Lipsey, Willem, Quinn and Charles Galligan; stepsons, Mike Parent, Steve (Dawn) Parent and Jim (Pam) Parent; three brothers, David (Mary) Vandeveld, Ronnie Vandeveld, Gladstone, Mich.; and Jack Vandeveld, Illinois. Lifelong friends, Jane Christie, Mary Ellen Resenhoeft, Ruth Ropel Shlimovitz, Sandy Eckert, Hedy Jo Huss, Pam Carter; and the many of her dear friends she leaves behind from Door County to Florida and all points in between. She left the world a better place, and all those whose lives she touched are better for having known her.Nicknames For Kids - News

Popper's inane nicknames for them don't spring immediately to mind, but I decided to make up my own: Squawky, Flappy, Huggy, Farty, Poopy and Klutzy. One can only imagine how insufferable this film would've been without the vital contributions of Jim
Cabbage and Flea — nicknames for children? « Babyccino Kids: Daily ...
Oh I love this subject… My children have beautiful names but we call them “Titchi” and “Chini” – and everyone calls them those names. “Titchi” came from the German word “quietschi”, which means squeaky and because he was only 1 at the time he couldn’t say it so called himself ‘titchi’ and it stuck. Chini, came from the biscuit Cantuccini – I called my daughter Lio-ccini and again the Chini bit stuck. For a long time though my son was know as Knoepfchen or Knoepf for short – which is little button in German – it was the nickname we gave him when he was a bump in my stomach and it stayed with him until he was about 2. I know people who have actually used the ‘womb’ nick-names in their child’s Christened name – A girl who has ‘Bean’ as her middle name and another who has ‘Pip’ – I really love them both! My other favourite nick-names for our kids: Raspberry McFeathers and Curly von Blitz are our children’s detective alter-egos and I also call them both pudding (one being a chocolate one with a chocolate goey centre and the other being a sponge one with strawberries and cream on top) – v. silly!
