Hamot Presents Erie Fire Department with New Vehicle | ErieBlogs

On Monday, November 1st, Hamot Medical Center President and CEO, John Malone will present the city of Erie Mayor, Joe Sinnott and Erie Fire Department Chief, Tony Pol, with a new vehicle in support of local emergency services. The brief presentation will take place at Central Fire Station on the corner of West 12th and Sassafras Streets starting at 1:30 p.m.

The donation is one of a several contributions Hamot has made to the Erie Fire Department over the past 5 years. Hamot was instrumental in the purchase of thermal imaging cameras which have been used by the Erie Fire Department to not only help locate people in fires but have also been utilized in police investigations as well.

“Hamot is a community partner,” said John Malone, President and CEO of Hamot. “We believe it is important to not only provide excellent patient care, but also support services that keep the people of this area safe.”

In addition to the recent contribution and the thermal imaging cameras, Hamot has historically provided the Erie Fire Department members with physicals each year and memberships to its Wellness Center and hosts the annual Public Safety Dinner each February.

“We appreciate Hamot’s support,” said Tony Pol, Erie Fire Department Chief. “It is through the dedication of corporate citizens like Hamot that we are able to have the tools we need to provide the necessary emergency response for those who need it, when they need it.”

The vehicle will replace a 1999 GMC van that the fire department currently uses.
